i like the inspirational choices ...cant go wrong with nirvana
strings and tabs are a cinch:
- strings go (from closest to ur face) E, A, D, G, B, E. use them as a sentence. i use (E)ddie (A)te (D)ynatmite. (G)ood (B)ye (E)ddie
- for tabs, lets look at what Ugz posted
e-----------------------12--15--12-----------------------
b------------------13-------------------13-----------------
g-------------12-----------------------------12------------
d-------14----------------------------------------14-------
a--15--------------------------------------------------15--
e-------------------------------------------------------------
as u can see, the strings are always posted kind of upside down from what u would think. the lowest E there is actually your low pitched E on the guitar as well so its the closest one to your face. when u see the 15, u would go to the 15th fret and press down on that string (the A)...then the 14th fret on the next string and so on. if u see numbers in a straight line, it means u play them at the same time, otherwise you play them individually. heres an example of playing the notes at the same time:
e-----------------------
b-----------------------
g-------------7---------
d-------------7---------
a-------------5---------
e-----------------------
thats a "D" as a powerchord. put your index finger on the 5th fret on the (A) string and put your ring and pinky finger on the 7th fret on the (D) and (G) strings. strike all three strings at the same time. thats all tabs are with variations of things like bends and slides and stuuuuff, but this is the basic stuff.
hey Ugz, when im playing that arpeggio, i only take my pinky and ring finger off (as they are the ones i chose for the 15 and 14 on the low E and A). is it ok since the others dont really have to move? also, when i get to the high E i kind of do an up stroke on the 15, down stroke on the 12, and upstrokes back up the rest of the strings. is there a better way of doing it, or does that sound right? btw Frank Gambale is a BA
