did u see the ben affleck movie jersey girl? lmao he gets fired from his publicist job for dissin the fresh prince trying to get into movies with independence day i haven't seen that movie, but i did catch enough of it while channel surfing to know it sucked...afftard sitting in a lobby listening to will smith talk about his schlong, clearly a chick flick. nooo way do his movies suck. given, i didnt like pursuit of gayness, didt like hancock and wild wild west i didnt even watch for obvious reasons...there are plenty of goods. bad boys 2, MIB was entertaining, ali, i am legend, enemy of the state, i robot, hitch...theres a reason why hes one of the top paid actors. hes GOOD. MIB was indeed entertaining, but it still sucked. brilliant concept with admittedly halfway decent acting ruined by cheesy script-wrtiting and childish plot. MIB sequel was just a crapfest. it was so bad that it tarnished its predecessor by association -- kinda like the latest die hard film. enemy of the state, OK you got me there...that is one badass movie. i am legend...o please, that's like the sixth or seventh remake of a classic sci fi novel -- which means it should have been impossible to screw up -- and yet it failed miserably. my favorite version is the 1964 movie "the last man on earth," though i have yet to see the 1971 (charlton heston) version "the omega man." the will smith version didn't even get the ending right, which renders the title completely meaningless -- why exactly is he "legend"? if you don't plan on watching the other versions i won't ruin it for you, but the protagonist's legendary status has got nothing to do with his research or his heroism. the difference between will smith's i am legend and (for example) the 1964 version is like the difference between "it's a small world" at disney and Halloween horror nights - same basic concept but drastically different execution.

lol i like this place, yall are such flatterers. on UL forums they delete my spam posts and threaten to ban me if i don't stay below 15 posts per day. but the title doesn't make any sense...he's NOT legend in the will smith version. he's just a random dude in a random city who happens to be a scientist. the only similarity is his pet dog. the only good part of the movie was golfing on the aircraft carrier, and i'm perty sure they stole that from swordfish. and wow i really lost a lot of respect for kevin smith after hearing that. he let ben affleck in one of his movies? what a tool.

dude ben has been in like ALL his films! hes not really random. hes on the cover of time or something. its not a random city either its where the infection began. i agree he is no legend. more like, hey some guy on the cover of time a few years ago cured the cure for cancer that f**ked everybody up. too bad theres only like 50 people left in the world and we screwed anyway. gg dr mr whatsyername

dude ben has been in like ALL his films! i guess i wasn't paying close enough attention then. are we thinkin of the same kevin smith? clerks, jay and silent bob strike back, zack and miri make a pr0no? sure as heck i don't remember the stench of affcrap in any of those. dozens of people are on TIME every year, and while the movie attempts to pin the "legend" title to the backfired scientific research, the ending of "the last man on earth" does a much better job of that. anyone here going to watch a 1960's film just because bbq says it's better than the latest version of the same story? no, didn't think so...so i'll just ruin the plot for yall: the protagonist is a scientist who's trying desperately to contain a plague that's sweeping across the earth. he fails and his family falls victim to the plague. bodies of plague victims have to be burned or else they turn into semi-sentient vampire-like zombies with a taste for human flesh. eventually the scientist is the only human being left, due to some weird immunity. he conducts a block-by-block one-man campaign during daylight to eradicate all the vampire-zombies, and at night the leader of the vampire-zombies throws rocks at his window and beats on his door while muttering in an awesome zombie voice "come out" over and over again. turns out there are still some human beings left alive, and though they suffered from the plague and don't go out in daylight, they're not vampires. the scientist who is the main character is "legendary" because the vampires that he has so methodically been wiping out for years, one day at a time, aren't really all vampires...many of them are in fact the last remnants of human civilization. the "legend" scientist is really a mass-murdering nightmare to the humans, and at the end of "the last man on earth," the survivors of human civilization hunt down the scientist and execute him for his crimes. isn't that a million times better than the will smith ending?
